WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:
JMEC has been providing on-call structural engineering services including plan check of precast soundwalls and retaining walls for various residential and community development projects in the City of Pittsburg. Example projects included San Marco, Mariner Walk II, Railroad Avenue Corridor Continuation, Greystone Place and the Belle Harbor.
Structural review and independent check are in conformance with the California Building Code (CBC) and ASCE 7-10 for Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures.
The precast reinforced concrete soundwalls are varying in height of up to 9-foot, some were built with retaining wall combination with heights up to 4-foot. Typical wall thickness is ranging from 4-in to 5-in. The wall is spanning between concrete pilasters supported on concrete drilled piers.
